Broadband Satellite
The broadband satellite solution consists of three fundamental component parts, each exclusively developed in order to provide control over the complete internet access network from your premises into the internet backbone:
The Internet Centre
The Internet Centre ensures that you can obtain broadband services and have a reliable, secure connection directly into the backbone of the internet.
Combined with the Network Operations Centre (also located within the facility), it functions as a central point of control, monitors network availability and provides excellent customer service. From the Internet Centre, the signal is beamed up to the satellite.
The Satellite Dish
All customers receive a 75cm satellite dish, placed outdoors, that establishes the connection with the satellite. The dish is connected directly to the Arc.
The Arc
The Arc, placed inside the your premises, is a unique device that hosts an email server and uses smart technology. This provides high-speed connectivity and a level of service equivalent to and above existing landline solutions.
The Arc is integrated into the your network, using standard interface technology, to provide a seamless connection to the internet.
The technology is based on the new open DVB-RCS (Digital Video Broadband - Return Channel System) standard, endorsed by the European Telecommunications Institute (ETSI) and allows for data throughput of up to 2 Mbps downstream and 512 Kbps upstream with outstanding contention ratios.
